NPS Solar has now completed solar installations at a number of schools across Greater Manchester as part of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Powering Our Schools programme.

A recent installation was at Gorton Education Village, which we can proudly say is now the biggest solar panel installation on a secondary school in the UK.

The system consists of 1,230 panels with a total capacity of 658.1 kWp, generating an estimated 585,670 kWh annually and saving 113.3 tonnes of CO2 per year.

The Powering Our Schools programme helps Greater Manchester schools access solar through a collective purchase scheme, reducing costs through bulk buying while supporting the city-region’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2038.
